YPN urges gov’t to appraise jobs of public sector workers

The Young Professionals Network (YPN) has suggested to the government to urgently consider embarking on job appraisal for public sector workers.

According to the YPN, such an exercise will expose redundancies, increase punctuality to work as well as promote responsibility among public sector workers.

“To ensure that such negative tendencies as mentioned above are eliminated from the public services, government should initiate steps to pay appropriate and competitive compensation that would attract the top-notch into the public sector. In this way, so many of the holdups are likely to be removed,” President of YPN, Stephen Asiedu noted in a statement on May Day.
